Nigeria records 339 new COVID-19 cases, total now 7,016

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Thursday night announced 339 more cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 7,016.

The NCDC made this known via its verified Twitter handle @NCDCgov, tweeting that

339 new confirmed cases and 9 deaths were recorded in Nigeria for May 21.

Till date, 7016 cases have been confirmed, 1907 cases have been discharged and 211 deaths have been recorded in 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The 339 new cases emanated from 18 states; 139-Lagos, 28-Kano, 28-Oyo, 25-Edo, 22-Katsina, 18-Kaduna, 14-Jigawa, 13-Yobe, 13-Plateau and 11-FCT. Others are 8-Gombe, 5-Ogun, 4-Bauchi, 4-Nasarawa, 3-Delta, 2-Ondo, 1-Rivers and 1-Adamawa.
