Nigeria’s confirmed coronavirus infections have hit 39,977.
as a result of an additional of 438 new cases, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has said.
The NCDC made the announcement via its twitter handle Saturday night, also provided the total number of deaths from the virus in the country as 856, while the number of recoveries has increased to 16,948.
The virus has continued to infect people the world over at alarming speed, raising concern that life will never be the same until a vaccine is found that will bring relief.
As of July 25, 17,088 of Africa’s 1.2 billion people are confirmed to have died of coronavirus, while there are 810,008 confirmed infections and 462,374 recoveries, according to the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention.
Over 15.9 million people around the world have been diagnosed with COVID-19, while more than 641,000 have died, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University. More than 9.18 million people have recovered.
