Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases now 6,401 with 226 new infections

Nigeria has recorded 226 new cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus, bringing the country’s total to 6,401.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on Tuesday night, tweeting that 131 of the new cases are in Lagos, 25 in Ogun, 15 in Plateau and 11 in Edo. Others are Kaduna seven, Oyo six, the FCT and Adamawa with five each, Jigawa, Ebonyi and Borno with four each, Nasarawa with three cases, Bauchi and Gombe with two each and one each in Enugu and Bayelsa.

The country has so far recorded 1,734 recoveries and 192 deaths.

Worldwide over 300,000 people have reportedly lost their lives to the coronavirus, close to five million cases have been recorded in 196 countries and territories and nearly two million have recovered.
