Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases rise by 338

Nigeria has recorded 338 new cases of the novel coronavirus. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said this brings the country’s total to 5,959.

The NCDC tweeted Sunday night that of the new cases, Lagos accounts for 177, Kano 64,

FCT 21, Rivers 16, Plateau 14 and Oyo 11.

Others are Katsina nine, Jigawa and Kaduna with four each, while Abia, Bauchi and Borno have three each. Gombe, Akwa Ibom, and Delta recorded two each, while Ondo, Kebbi and Sokoto have one each.

The novel coronavirus has killed 182 people since the first case was confirmed in the country on February 27. 1594 recoveries have so far been recorded.

At least 4,680,700 cases of coronavirus have been registered in 196 countries and territories. Of these, at least 1,670,100 are now considered recovered, while 313,611 people have lost their lives to the virus.
