Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases rise by 416 infections

The daily tally of Nigeria’s coronavirus (COVID-19) cases has increased by 416 infections.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Monday night confirmed the new cases in the country and a total of 12 deaths in the last 24 hours.

The total of confirmed cases is now 10,578, while 299 have died and 3,122 have been discharged.

Nigeria’s economic hub Lagos again had the highest number of 192. The spread of the virus further intensified in Edo as the state recorded 41 new cases. Rivers recorded 33 new cases. Kaduna 30, Kwara 23, Nasarawa 18, Borno 17, FCT 14 and Oyo 10.

The states with single digits are Katsina with seven new cases, Abia and Delta confirmed five new cases each, Adamawa and Kano recorded four each, while Imo and Ondo got three each, Benue, Bauchi and Ogun had two cases each, and Niger one.
