Nigeria’s new coronavirus cases rise by 288

Nigeria Friday recorded 288 new COVID-19 cases across the country in 34 states and the FCT.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made the confirmation of the new cases via tweet bringing the total to 5,445.

NCDC said 179 new cases were recorded in Lagos, 20 in Kaduna with 15 in Katsina and Jigawa each. Borno got 13, Ogun 11. For Kano it is eight, FCT seven, while Niger and Ekiti got four each. Oyo, Delta and Bauchi had three new cases each.

NCDC announced two new cases in Kwara State and also confirmed one case in Edo State.

The number of total recoveries increased from 1,180, to 1320 while fatalities increased from 170 to 171.
