Obi felicitates with Muslims at Ramadan, begs traders not to hike prices of foodstuffs

Frontline Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential aspirant for the 2023 election, Mr Peter Obi, has felicitated with Nigerian Muslims on the successful commencement of this year’s Ramadan.

Obi in a statement on Saturday by his Media Office described the Holy Month of Ramadan as one that is usually eagerly anticipated by Muslims as the Ramadan fast is one of the five pillars of Islam.

“It is a month that requires a lot of sacrifices, including total abstinence from indulgences, but it is also a month that brings with it a lot of blessings,” Obi noted.

The former Anambra State governor urged privileged Muslims “to use the opportunity offered by the Holy Month of Ramadan to help the needy” while also appealing to traders “to resist the temptation to hike prices of foodstuffs, as this would compound the problems of the suffering masses.”

Obi wished all Nigerian Muslims a happy Ramadan while urging them “to use this Holy Month to intensify prayers for workable solutions to Nigeria’s myriad problems.”
