A 35- year-old motorcycle rider, Olasunkanmi Oladimeji, on Friday appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly sexually assaulting a teenager.
The defendant, who resides at 33, Goodylove St., Egbeda, Akowonjo, Lagos State, is charged with sexual assault.
He, however, pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, ASP Raji Akeem, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Dec. 27 at 32, Akinwowo St., Egbeda, Lagos.
Akeem said that the defendant was well-known by the 16- year-old and her family.
He said that the defendant came to the teenager’s residence to collect a movie disc and took advantage of her because she was the only one at home.
He said that the defendant forcefully kissed her, pushed her to a couch and tried to pull down her skirt and underwears.
“While trying to force his way into the girl, her elder sister came in and she raised an alarm,” he said.
According to the prosecutor, the offence contravened Section 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs B.O. Osunsanmi, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Osunsanmi adjourned the case until March 15 to enable for the state director of public prosecutions to give advice on the case. (NAN)
