Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has commended corps members in the state who participated in the just concluded 2019 general election for their outstanding performance, saying that history would not forget them for their patriotism, while assuring them that his administration would appreciate them before leaving office for their selfless sacrifice and input in nation building.
The governor stated this when he officially declared open, the orientation course for the 2019 Batch “A’ corps members deployed to the state at the NYSC Orientation camp, Eziama Obare, Nkwerre council area.
Represented by Ifeanyichukwu Onwueyiagba, the chairman NYSC state governing board, the governor noted that the NYSC which was established in 1973 had apart from recording tremendous achievements in its mission and guest for national growth, integration and development, has now become a veritable symbol of national unity and a call to selfless service and personal sacrifice.
“Please continue in this spirit like other patriotic Nigerians who served before you, take all the lessons in the orientation course seriously particularly the skills acquisition programs as it will adequately equip you towards self-employment, wealth creation and poverty alleviation”. Read more
