PAU BOOKLOGUE explores digital youth and social movements

The Pan-Atlantic University Press (PAU) and Committee for Relevant Art (CORA) are set to host a hybrid literary event on Sunday, September 1, 2024. The event, dubbed PAU-CORA BOOKLOGUE, will focus on the book Digital Youths & Social Movements by Dr Nwachukwu Egbunike.

This innovative gathering will take place both in-person at the iconic Freedom Park in Lagos and virtually via Google Meet, allowing for widespread participation. The event is scheduled to commence at 2pm WAT, promising an afternoon of insightful discussion and literary exploration.

The venue, Kongi’s Harvest Gallery within Freedom Park, carries historical significance, adding depth to the conversation about youth movements in the digital age. Freedom Park, once a colonial prison, now stands as a symbol of liberty and expression – a fitting backdrop for this timely discussion.

Notable speakers at the event include the author himself, Dr Egbunike, alongside Fadairo Olakunle, Nnenna Onwuchekwa, and Kelani Mercy Timilehin. These thought leaders are expected to delve into the intricate relationship between digital platforms and youth-led social movements, a topic of increasing relevance in today’s interconnected world.

This BOOKLOGUE, a variant of CORA’s established BOOKTrek series, aims to bridge the gap between academic discourse and public engagement. By exploring the intersection of digital media and youth activism, the event promises to shed light on the evolving landscape of social movements in the 21st century.

For those unable to attend in person, the virtual option via Google Meet ensures that this crucial conversation reaches a global audience.
