Paul Scholes feel Manchester United missed out in the transfer window by not signing Christian Eriksen and a striker.

United were linked with a move for Tottenham’s Eriksen and entered talks with the Dane in the final week of the transfer window, but could not get a deal done.

The Red Devils were also looking to bring in a forward, with Romelu Lukaku leaving for Inter Milan, but moves for the likes of Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic could not be completed.

Scholes was especially disappointed to see his old club miss out on Eriksen, who he feels could have been a huge creative influence at Old Trafford. Read more
