Today, Saturday, August 29 is a special day in the life of books, a blessed day in an unprecedented year that has taken more than it has give back. Tonight is a night of stories, just like the many birthed so far this year, touching the heart in many ways. The touching stories you can only find in Tales from the Streets by Peju Akande. At 9 pm, the co-founder, thisislagos.ng and author will feature on #BookOnReview with Benj! On Classic FM97.3.
This is not an event to miss.
Tales from the Streets is a collection of human interest stories from the metro sections, which find life as longer but more dramatic pieces with screaming headlines. Originally published on thisislagos.ng since inception in 2018, they are 50 of the best drawn from the ongoing series that is the biggest draw on the website. The beautifully designed and produced book, which cover is designed by the renowned artist Victor Ehikhamenor should find a spot on every bookshelf.
The stories are visceral vignettes and glimpses of life as lived on the streets of Lagos, mostly, as well as in other cities around Nigeria.
