After Peter Obi revealed that Siemens told him that the Nigerian government is the reason their deal on the power sector failed, Tolu Ogunlesi tried to rubbish the statement.
NAIJA NEWS NG reports that Tolu Ogunlesi wrote :
“There’s a video of @PeterObi claiming Siemens told him Nigeria has been having meetings with them without progress.
With all due respect, this is yet another grievous untruth, and must not be allowed to go unchallenged. Here are the facts on #PPInigeria:
Since #PPInigeria kicked off: -#FGNPowerCo set up
-Pre-engineering phase has started & been concluded
@africa_finance appointed Transaction Adviser
-A major equipment contract was awarded Dec 2021 – factory testing of equipment starting this month
For someone to claim they were told this, by the implementing firm – is a cheap lie, and also very easy to fact-check.
Someone needs to pay more attention to #PPInigeria news – because all of these things are being duly reported.
Here’s the video. Just imagine this. And the people listening are gobbling up the fabricated populist claptrap and clapping.
Check this hashtag out #PPInigeria and see that everything said in this video is a LIE. ”
However, to prove Tolu Ogunlesi wrong, Nigerians dredged up a video by Channels TV where President Muhammadu Buhari and Femi Adesina spoke about the deal. The deal promised that in 2021 Nigerians are meant to be enjoying 7,000 MW of electricity but in 2022 alone the National Grid collapsed severally. Watch the video below :

Olabanji Kareem : “How can Tolu Ogunlesi say what Siemens told Peter Obi was not true when he (Tolu) was not at the meeting.
Is it also a lie that, based on your deal with Siemens, Nigerians are supposed to have started enjoying 7,000 MW of electricity since 2021?
Where is the light?”

“Peter Obi told them the truth about the Siemens deal, they went and brought old pictures of transformer delivery that was done under Goodluck Jonathan. I have not seen a party with shameless aides like APC
Tolu and Bashir Ahmed are the worse to hire. Like Nigerian Air 🤝 Siemens”

@General_Oluchi
“I didn’t know you are the spokesperson for Siemens. You sound very desperate in your tweet, like you are trying to cover up something. Why not wait for Siemens to deny Peter Obi and we go from there?
All these rebuttal yet there’s no steady electricity.”

@UchePOkoye : “Where is the power?
The Siemens power project is a big flop!”

“Nigeria signed deal in 2018 with Siemens and 3years plus no improvement in power generation. Egypt did same with the same company and country and within 5years the recorded a huge power generation.
What is Egypt doing differently. ? Should PO approach Siemens on what ground?”

“It took Egypt 1 month to seal their power deal with Siemens. But the Nigerian/APC government has been having meeting with them for 3 years. Each time they come to Nigeria, they meet with a different committee, from one meeting to another. You have to unambitious to support APC”
