Police arraign 2 men over alleged theft of N3.28m property

The police in Lagos on Thursday arraigned two men in a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing property valued at N3,284,000.

The suspects, Godspower Victor, 23; and Sanni Isha, 27; whose addresses are unknown, are being charged with felony, stealing and malicious damage.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Ayodele Adeosun, told the court that the two men committed the offences between Jan.7 and Jan. 10 at about 8 a.m. at Isanno Ikogakoh Akumo, Ilogbo Eremi, Badagry, Lagos.

The prosecutor said Victor and Isha conspired to commit felony by breaking and stealing at the house of one Moses Okafor.

He added that the two men entered the house of the complainant and stole property valued at N3,284,000 and also damaged the glass door of the house valued at N450,000.

He said the offences contravened sections 411, 287 and 339 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State (2015).

However, the Chief Magistrate, Mr A. J. Aina, granted bail to the two men in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum.

He ruled that one of the sureties should be gainfully employed in a reputable company or in a government establishment, and adjourned the case until Jan. 31, for mention. (NAN)
