Police arraign doctor for operating teenager without parent’s consent (New Telegraph)

A medical doctor, Dr. Ejike Orji, has been arraigned by the police before Magistrate O. O. Otitoju of a Lagos Chief Magistrate’s Court in Igbosere for carrying out an orthopaedic operation on a teenager, Somitochukwu Ezi-Ashi, without his parent’s consent.  The doctor who was docked on a count charge of endangering the boy’s life, however, pleaded not guilty to the offence. Lagos to mass produce coconut bread (Nation)

Lagos State Government is making arrangements with 10 major bakeries for the mass production of coconut bread, “Eko Bread” as a means to provide more market avenue for coconut utilization. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it is partnering with the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) to send messages to owners of the uncollected Permanent Voter Cards (PVC). A National Commissioner of INEC, Mr Soyebi Adedeji, made this known on Monday in Abuja at the Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room Dialogue Session on Osun Election. Pinnick, FA chairmen, others in Lagos for Akinwunmi (NewTelegraph)

Nigeria Football Federation president, Amaju Pinnick, was among the dignitaries that watched the final game of the 2018 Seyi Akinwunmi U-13 tournament at the Campos Mini Stadium, Lagos. Apart from Pinnick, some FA chairmen were also on hand with some ex-internationals like Mutiu Adepoju, Friday Ekpo among others. The kids showed exceptional football artistry to the delight of the capacity crowd among which were school children that came to watch the game. The most striking aspect of the game was the freekick prowess of some of the players on display with Planter Primary School, Lagos goalkeeper, Ali Chukwudi, hitting the bar twice in their third place match against Baptist Government Primary School, Osun. While on the other hand, the Osun side were able to hit the back of the net twice through freekick as they won the bronze medal 3-1 in the presence of the state FA chairman, and former NFF Secretary General, Taiwo Ogunjobi.
