Police arrest 20 over abandoned dead baby in Rivers (Punch)

The Rivers State Police Command on Sunday arrested 20 persons over the discovery of a dead newborn baby abandoned at a rubbish dump.

The incident, which happened on Kalahari/Udi Street, Mile 1, Diobu, Port Harcourt, shocked residents and passersby.

It was gathered that the police arrived the scene and arrested over 20 persons.

An eyewitness simply identified as Uche said the police on arrival arrested over 20 persons before taking the baby’s corpse away.

He said, “The police came this afternoon and carried the dead baby, who was wrapped in a black plastic bag, and also arrested about 20 persons.
