Rafael Nadal has made an incredibly generous donation to victims of the Majorca floods, which tragically took the lives of 13 people.
The 17-time Grand Slam champion was involved in the clean-up of the flash floods that hit his hometown hard in October, while he offered shelter to victims at the time in his tennis academy in the town of Manacor.
But he has continued to give back to the community in the months following the devastating natural disaster and has donated €1million (£903,000) to help those affected in the municipality of Sant Llorenc des Cardassar.
‘It is assistance from a person who is very special to us, someone who shows his profound love for our land and our residents every day,’ the mayor of Sant Llorenc, Mateu Puigros, said in an open letter. Read more
