Rami Malek top of Bond 25 producers wish list for villain after Oscars win (Metro)

Bond 25 producers are thought to be courting Oscar winner Rami Malek to play the villain in the upcoming installment, tentatively titled Shatterhand.

He has long been at the top of the wishlist but scheduling conflicts with filming of the upcoming final season of his Emmy award-winning TV show Mr Robot were alleged to be behind his initial hesitation.

Following on from his success at the Academy Awards however, where he took home best actor for his role of Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, sources close to the production have claimed that bosses have ‘renewed interest’ in the actor.

‘Insiders say while meetings with other talent have taken place, producers never wavered on trying to land the role for Malek and have worked hard for months to accommodate both shoot,’ claims Variety. Read more
