Man rapes 14 year-old at knife point, cleaned her blood with his top and ran away with it (Nation)

A 14-year-old girl, in Ikorodu area of Lagos, has narrated how she was forced at knife point by a man simply identified as Dolapo in a house at Fajemisi Kokoro Abu Street in Sabo, Ikorodu area of Lagos.

The incident happened around 11am on Monday.

According to the victim, the incident happened while she was coming back from where she had gone to buy food for her boss in the same area where she is learning hair styling. Read more

 

Naval ratings assault journalists over parking space (Punch)

A journalist, Abiola Oduola, has accused some naval ratings of assaulting him and his colleague, Segun Ojo, in the Mende, Maryland area of Lagos.

It was gathered that Oduola had parked his car in front of a building close to the Spa Lavender, the venue of an events he and his colleague were to cover on July 21, 2019.

By the time they returned at the end of the event, the tyres of the vehicle had been deflated by the naval ratings. Read more

 

Police arraign two for ‘fighting over N5,000’ (Nation)

The police on Wednesday arraigned two men in Badagry, Lagos, for allegedly fighting over N5,000.

Kehinde Adewale, 28, and Rasaki Balogun, 32, pleaded not guilty to the three-count charge of assault, breach of the peace and arson.

Prosecuting Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Akpan Nkem said the defendants committed the offence on July 22 at Ona-Odo Compound, Imeke, Badagry. Read more

 

Woman nabbed for attempted child-theft in Lagos (Punch)

A 35-year-old woman, Immaculate Otam, has been arrested by the police for allegedly trying to steal a six-week-old baby at No. 229 Agege Motor Road, Mushin, Lagos State.

The mother of the baby, Naimot Badmus, said she stepped out and left the sleeping baby in the sitting room of her family’s apartment.

She added that some minutes later, she came back to the sitting room and saw a strange woman trying to pick up the baby. Read more

 

Housekeeper defiles girl, 4 (Nation)

An Igbosere Magistrates’ Court, on Wednesday remanded a housekeeper, Mercy Edeh, following her arraignment for allegedly defiling her employer’s four-year-old daughter.

Magistrate K. O. Doja-Ojo ordered that Edeh be kept in Ikoyi Prison. She said the case file should be duplicated and sent to the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice.

She did not take the defendant’s plea; she advised her to apply for bail at a high court. Read more

 

Two women arraigned for defrauding housewife of N21m (Punch)

The police, on Wednesday, arraigned two women, Blessing Asugwa and Joy Ogbu, before the Lagos State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ebute Meta for allegedly defrauding a housewife of N21m.

It was gathered that the duo obtained the money from one Amaka Joel on the pretext that it would be invested in a business, but this never materialised.

They were arraigned on three counts of obtaining under false pretences, fraud and theft. Read more

 

Brothers ‘steal pastor’s N1.3m rent’ (Nation)

Two brothers, Olanrewaju and Kolawole Afuwape, who allegedly stole the N1.3 million a pastor realised as rent for his property, Thursday appeared before an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.

Olanrewaju, 44, and Kolawole, 35, were arraigned by the police on a four-count charge of conspiracy, forgery and theft.

Prosecuting Sergeant Tope Adegbie alleged that the defendants committed the offence between 2018 and July 2019 at Alimosho area of Lagos. Read more

 

Boy, 16, accused of raping girl, 3 (Nation)

A 16-year-old boy, Christopher Samuel, on Tuesday appeared at a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court, for allegedly raping a three-year-old girl.

He pleaded not guilty.

Minor, others arraigned for stealing N2.7m church offering (Punch)

The police, on Monday, arraigned a minor and two men, Osita Egbo and Joel Okafor, before the Lagos State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Yaba for allegedly stealing N2.7m from the offering box of a church.

It was gathered that on July 2, 2019, the defendants allegedly stole N2.7m from the offering box of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries in the Onike area of Yaba, Lagos.

PUNCH Metro learnt that while Egbo was a security guard at the church, Okafor and the minor were members of the church. Read more

 

Man allegedly kills friend over ram betting (Nation)

A man identified as Yusuf Isiaka was allegedly stabbed to death by his friend, Segun Banji, over ram betting.

The incident occurred at Oke Oko in Isawo, Ikorodu, Lagos around 12pm.

Banji, a resident of 15, Araromi Street, Oke Oko was alleged to have stabbed Isiaka, 25, on his left chest, leading to death. Read more
