Rapper Juelz Santana sentenced to two years in prison (Metro)

Rapper Juelz Santana has been sentenced to 27 months in prison after pleading guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and carrying a weapon on an aircraft.

The 36-year-old plead guilty and was sentenced on Wednesday in Newark, New Jersey after he was arrested in March.

Santana, real name LaRon James, was stopped at security at New Jersey’s Newark Liberty International Airport where guards searched his carry-on luggage and found a loaded .38-caliber handgun and nonprescription oxycodone pills.

Santana left the airport, leaving his bags behind, but three days later handed himself in to police.

It is not known when he will need to surrender but the judge also placed him under supervised release for 12 months after he’s completed his time. Read more
