Rangers legend Ray Wilkins has died at the age of 61.
The Professional Footballers’ Association said: “It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we have learnt that former England midfielder Ray Wilkins has passed away, aged 61.
“The thoughts and condolences of everyone at the PFA are with his family and friends.”
The Evening Times previously reported how he had been placed in an induced coma after suffering from a heart attack and a fall at home.
The former footballer had appeared on Alan Brazil’s breakfast radio show just a day before he became ill on Wednesday. Read more
