Reno Omokri “accused” of plagiarism

Reno Omokri has been accused of plagiarism on social media. The Nigerian social commentator has however refuted the claim, saying instead that it is a South African woman Pinkie M Kgangyetsi. who has plagiarised all his posts on social media.

Making the allegation via an Instagram post on his verified page, the former media aide to then president Goodluck Jonathan stated: “Just imagine! This lady from South Africa named Pinkie M Kgangyetsi, has become an internet sensation by stealing all my posts. She cleverly removes my hashtags and has become very popular in her country on my intellectual property.”

According to Omokri, Kgangyetsi, who lied about travelling to Norway to her followers and used the picture he took to validate the lie, is celebrated by the media for her rare wisdom.

“And someone came to my profile to accuse me of plagiarism and lying,” Omokri said in the post.

He said that he was confused until he went to her profile to discover that Kgangyetsi had not only stolen his posts, but had also blocked him on all platforms.

“You can imagine the impunity. It has been going on for years, I’m short of words. I watched the mindless looting there last month and I thought that was the worst I’ll ever see. I never thought someone there will also loot my intellectual property so brazenly”.

Recall that Omokri in 2019 had accused Phillip Obin of plagiarism, saying stole his tweet of 9th September 2019. Obin published the alleged stolen tweet on his Twitter handle on 14th September 2019 with more engagement than the alleged original owner.

According to Omokri (renoomokri), “Dear @PhilipObin, You stole my tweet. You even pinned it on your profile. You could not even change one word. You just removed the #FreeLeahSharibu and #RenosNuggets and @XEROX’ed word for word. And when you managed @OfficialAPCNg’s Twitter account, you were insulting me!”
