Scores of youths in Idimu, Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State, on Tuesday protested the alleged killing of one Ahmed Segun by a riot policeman attached to a company in the area.
It was learnt that police personnel from Idimu and neighbouring areas were mobilised to the scene and were complemented by men of the Rapid Response Squad to quell the riotous gathering.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, said preliminary investigation revealed that the youth were reacting to the death of Segun, 32, who was allegedly shot by a riot policeman guarding a company in the area.
Elkana stated that on August 6, around 9pm, the command received a distress call that some youths, armed with dangerous weapons, attacked a car stand at the Council area, Ikotun Road, Idimu, and were about to set the building ablaze. Read more
