Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand is expecting a big performance from striker Marcus Rashford when Jose Mourinho’s side visit Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
The defender turned broadcaster says he wants Rashford to emulate his performance for England on Monday night. The striker scored and was heavily involved as Gareth Southgate’s side beat Spain 3-2 in Seville.
Rashford has so far this season failed to produce such performances in a United shirt but Ferdinand believes his moment to change that has arrived and has backed the 20-year-old to be the matchwinner.
‘Right, before I go out and take my boy to football,’ Ferdinand posted on his Twitter account.
