Rotary District 9112 hosts public image seminar in Lagos

On July 2, 2024, Rotary International District 9112 will host a pivotal public image seminar in Lagos, aimed at enhancing the visibility and impact of Rotary’s mission. 

Organised by the district’s Public Image Committee, according to a statement, the event is themed “The Magic of Public Image in Rotary” and will feature prominent figures from the media and marketing communications industry.

The seminar, to be held at the Keystone Bank Hall, The Rotary Centre, will commence at 10:30am. The chief host of the event, Rotarian Femi Adenekan, who will officially assume the role of District Governor on July 1, 2024, for the 2024-2025 Rotary year, expressed his excitement about the potential impact of the seminar.

Notable speakers include Dr. Reuben Abati, a well-known syndicated columnist, TV host, and former presidential spokesman; Past Assistant Governor (PAG) John Senaya, an expert in public speaking and PR; Past President (PP) Sola Akinsiku, the president of the Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN); and Rotarian Jide Ogunleye, a digital marketing specialist and incoming president of the Rotary Club of Omole-Golden.

Dr. Abati will deliver insights on “The Role of the Media in the Task of Nation-Building,” exploring how media can shape and influence national development. PAG Senaya will delve into the “Rotary Brand Center,” emphasising the importance of maintaining a strong brand identity. PP Akinsiku will discuss strategies for “Expanding Rotary’s Reach and Impact through Out-of-Home Advertising,” while Rtn. Ogunleye will offer practical tips on “Deploying Social Media Channels to Enhance the Rotary Brand.”

“This seminar promises to be a transformative event for Rotary members and stakeholders,” said Assistant Governor Ehi Braimah, chairman of the District Public Image Committee. “Our goal is to enhance public awareness and appreciation of Rotary’s contributions to society.”
