As part of efforts to set up a healthier environment, the Rotary Club of Lekki Golden, District 9110, in conjunction with Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK), has planted 150 trees at Adewumi Adebimpe Drive, Lekki Phase 1.
Speaking at the event, the president of the club, Chima Aja-Chima, said tree planting would be of great benefit to the environs and generations to come.
“We have enumerated tree planting to be a means to put things in line with the climate change concerns and keep the environment green, to give out oxygen, working in collaboration with Lagos State and the vision and mission of Rotary International.
“Whenever we see the flood that happens in Lagos, there seem to be a good awareness that something has to be done. LASPARK is addressing it and as a club, we are collaborating with them in line with our vision.” (Guardian)
