Family members of a 22-year-old lady, Oluwakemi Soyebo, are in distress following her sudden disappearance while returning from work.

Oluwakemi was said to have gone to her place of work in the Agbara area of Ogun State on June 3, 2019, but has not returned home since.

Her colleagues reportedly said Oluwakemi left the office for home at the close of work that day.

The mother of the victim, Bukola Soyebo, who spoke with PUNCH Metro, said she thought that her daughter was with her friend but all her telephone lines had been switched off and efforts to get across to her had proved abortive. Read more

Only 65 women won election in 2019, says women group (ThisDay)

The Coalition for Women Inclusion in Governance has said that only about 65 women politicians were elected into various positions in the just-concluded 2019 general election in the country.

PDP, NGE, others bash FG as NBC suspends AIT/Raypower licence (Punch)

The National Broadcasting Commission on Thursday announced the suspension of the licences of the African Independent Television and Ray Power FM belonging to the Daar Communications Limited.

The NBC Director-General, Dr Modibbo Kawu, stated this at a press briefing in Abuja, saying the shutdown of the media houses was until further notice.

The DG said the infractions committed by the media houses included their inability to pay their licence renewal fees and the airing of a Presidential election documentary while the matter was still before a tribunal, among others. Read more

A radio presenter, Mr. Koffi Bartels, working with ‘the Nigerian Info’ station in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has narrated how he was allegedly beaten and tortured by some policemen attached to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

Bartels said the policemen pounced on him when he tried to take snapshots of them trying to bundle a boy into their van.

The presenter explained that he was driving around his community when he saw SARS officers, beating up the boy. Read more

A bomb explosion, yesterday, killed three persons in Eziorsu community, Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State. When Vanguard called Imo State Police Public Relations Officer, Orlando Ikeokwu, he confirmed the development.

Grammy-winning American singer Dr John has died at the age of 77 after suffering a heart attack.

The New Orleans-born musician died on Thursday, according to a message posted on his official Twitter account.

It was a full house on Thursday as the duo of William Troost-Ekong and Odion Ighalo arrived the Super Eagles Golden Tulip Hotel camp in Asaba.

African Champions League final for replay after VAR controversy (Nation)
