See the projects President Buhari is in Lagos to commission today

The Lagos State government has listed the projects President Muhammadu Buhari is in Lagos on a state visit on Wednesday, April 24 to commission to include: The Eko Theatre, Ayinke House, Buses for the Bus Reform Initiative, Oshodi Transport Interchange, and Airport Road. Below are the projects, some of which are nearing completion, in pictures.

The Eko Theatre

The Eko Theatre is a sterling concept by the Governor Akinwunmi Ambode administration to provide a viable platform for youths to harness their creative minds and potentials.

Set to be inaugurated for public use, four new theatres have been completed in Ikeja, Badagry, Alimosho and Epe.

Ayinke House

Ayinke House, a maternity hospital has been upgraded by the administration.  The hospital, located within the premises of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja, is an ultramodern 170- bed Obstetrics and Gynecology specialist hospital.

 

 

Buses for the Bus Reform Initiative
Under the Bus Reform Initiative expected to commence in May 2019, 820 out of the expected 5,000 new buses have been procured and are set to be launched. Other components of the scheme such as modern bus terminals, bus depots, bus stops and segregated laybys are already up in strategic locations across the state.

 

 

Oshodi Transport Interchange

The Oshodi Transport Interchange designed to transform Oshodi to a world-class transport centre and end all notorious activities in the area was constructed on the public-private partnership (PPP) arrangement.

The interchange has 18 lifts; six each for the three terminals that are equipped with CCTV, with the capacity to enable one predict when a bus would arrive at the terminal.

Airport Road

The Oshodi International Airport Road will completely change the face of Lagos forever.

Specifically, the design of the project includes the reconstruction and expansion of the existing carriage to three-lane Expressway on both directions, construction of two-lane Service Road in both directions, construction of Ramp Bridge to provide a U-turn from Ajao Estate to Airport, construction of a flyover at NAHCO/Toll Gate and drainage works.

Others include the removal of existing Pedestrian Bridge at Ajao Estate and construction of Pedestrian Bridges at Ajao Estate and NAHCO/Hajj Camp, construction of Slip Road.
