Sesor announces Survivor Series

Sesor is set to introduce a new programme called Sesor Survivor Series.

Making the announcement in a statement Thursday, the non-governmental organisation (NGO) said it will be doing special features on some of the resilient women they have been working with.

“This is following our recently concluded second economic empowerment programme cycle for 51 women in Lagos, in partnership with Grooming Centre, and the result is quite encouraging,” said the statement.

The empowerment programme, which Sesor stated was launched in 2016, “has been more than productive as we have recorded outstanding success rates from 131 beneficiaries in Lagos and Maiduguri”.

Sesor explained that having survived through the horrific terrorist attacks and communal clashes in the Northeast and now seeking refuge in a host community in Lagos, the unwavering resilience of the displaced persons they work with has encouraged the NGO through its empowerment programme to help them survive,  thrive and become more self-dependent.

Sesor, which said it will be running the series from mid-August when it will share all the amazing success stories in details, was thankful to it partners, Grooming Centre and First City Monument Bank (FCMB) for enabling them work with these women.

Sesor particularly congratulated the Grooming Centre, which it described as its “supporter-in-chief” on the grand opening of their micro finance bank last week.

“The bank, Grooming Micro Finance Bank Limited, will be starting its operations from Ibadan. We look forward to seeing it grow in leaps and bounds as it provides financial services to women at the grassroots,” Sesor stated.
