Barely two weeks after 19 pregnant girls were rescued from a baby factory in Lagos State, another set of pregnant girls has been found by policemen attached to the Isolo Police Division.

Lagos closes Costain bridge, roundabout, issues travel advisory (Nation)
The Lagos State government on Wednesday disclosed plans to shut down the Costain roundabout inwards Funso Williams Avenue for three months, beginning from Thursday, October 3.

Justice Patricia Ajoku of the Federal High Court, Ibadan, Oyo State, has ordered that one Gideon Onifade be remanded in prison until the case of fraud instituted against him is decided.
The accused was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibadan zonal office, on Wednesday on five counts bordering on forgery, fake representation, obtaining money under false pretences and Internet-related offences. Read more

Minimum wage: Labour gives Fed Govt Oct 16 ultimatum (Nation)
Labour on Wednesday gave the Federal Government an October 16 ultimatum to resolve all issues surrounding the consequential adjustment of salaries for the implementation of the minimum wage.

12 banks to pay N499b CBN fine for loan policy breach(Nation)
For breaching its guidelines on lending to the real sector of the economy, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has fined 12 major banks N499.1billion.
According to an approved debit instruction, the affected banks and the amount they will pay are: Citibank (N100,743,055, 321); First Bank of Nigeria (N74,668,880,480); FBNQuest Merchant Bank (N2, 697,456,144); First City Monument Bank (FCMB), (N14, 371,064, 742) and Guaranty Trust Bank (N25, 147, 933, 628). ‘Grave moment’ as North Korea tests missile fired from sea (BBC)
North Korea has confirmed it test-fired a new type of a ballistic missile, a significant escalation from the short-range tests it has conducted since May.
The missile – which was able to carry a nuclear weapon – was the North’s 11th test this year.

The tech community in Nigeria, Africa’s most populous country, is fighting back against what its leaders say is alleged police harassment and extortion of tech workers.
