Sex romp: Minister advises higher institutions on drug abuse, cultism (Punch)

Following the death of three students of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State, at the Sunshine Castle hostel, Ihiagwa, the Minister of State for Education, Prof. Anthony Anwuka, has urged heads of tertiary institutions to end drug abuse and cultism such institutions.

The FUTO students died after a sex romp in the hostel after allegedly taking tramadol and Indian hemp.

The minister, who spoke in Owerri, said the heads of institutions of higher learning must work hard to ensure that drug abuse, cultism and all forms of indiscipline were curbed in tertiary institutions.

He said the alleged abuse of drugs by the affected students was not a good one for FUTO, considering its long standing record of academic excellence. Read more
