Street Trading: Lagos task force arrests 15 culprits (Independent)

In continuation of the clampdown on illegal street-trading activities across the State, the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Agency is set to prosecute 15 illegal traders arrested during an enforcement operation in Oyingbo area of Lagos state yesterday.

The Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, who led the enforcement team in collaboration with the Corps (LAGESC), said the illegal trading persisted unabated despite several warnings by the agency.

He said, during yesterday’s operation, over 1,500 trespassers who displayed and sell their wares on main roads, medians, road-setbacks, drainage alignments as well as railway tracks around the entire Oyingbo market area were dislodged. Read more
