‘The Fabelmans,’ ‘The Banshees of Inisherin’ win big at revamped Golden Globes

This year’s Golden Globe Awards have been announced!

After being taken off the air amid controversy about the lack of diversity among its former voting body, the awards show is back on NBC following internal changes made by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Comedian Jerrod Carmichael didn’t pull any punches while hosting Tuesday’s ceremony.

Among the film nominees, The Banshees of Inisherin led the field going into the night with eight nominations, ultimately clinching the top prize among musical or comedy movies. Everything Everywhere All at Once took home several pieces of hardware from its six nods, and The Fabelmans scored a best drama movie win as well as a directing statuette for Steven Spielberg.

For television, Abbott Elementary took top comedy honors and two acting wins among its leading five nominations. Four-time nominee The White Lotus topped the limited series category, scoring supporting actress statuette for star Jennifer Coolidge. And House of the Dragon was named best drama series.
