Azuwa Studios recently hosted an exclusive event to celebrate the upcoming release of “The Smart Money Woman” Season 2 in a dazzling display of star power and anticipation. The gathering, held in the upscale neighbourhood of Ikoyi, Lagos, brought together the cream of Nigeria’s entertainment industry and business world, setting the stage for what promises to be a groundbreaking season of the popular series.
The event, masterminded by writer-producer Arese Ugwu, saw the convergence of the show’s leading ladies – Osas Ighodaro, Ini Dima-Okojie, Toni Tones, Oshawa Tunde-Imoyo and Eso Dike – alongside a select group of influencers, entrepreneurs and industry insiders. Ugwu expressed her optimism about the changing landscape of Nollywood, particularly for female filmmakers in a statement. “This new era is pushing us to deliver world-class talent and productions,” she noted, emphasising the abundance of talent that has long existed in the industry.
Lead actress Osas Ighodaro shared her enthusiasm for the project, praising its themes of female empowerment, friendship, and financial literacy. The international collaboration between Nigerian and South African talent was also highlighted as a significant aspect of the production.
Producer Isoken Ogiemwonyi offered insights into the show’s impressive fashion elements, revealing that over 690 outfits were sourced from Nigeria and Ghana to enhance the storytelling through style.
