Theresa May under more pressure to name date she will quit (Metro)

Theresa May is expected to meet with the chairman of the powerful 1922 Committee of Tory backbenchers today as she faces growing pressure to quit.

The Prime Minister has been told to name the date for when she will stand down and trigger a leadership contest by MPs in her party.

Today’s meeting with Sir Graham Brady comes after the 1922 Committee requested ‘clarity’ about her timetable for leaving Downing Street.
