Sanwo-Olu preaches to LASTMA
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has warned officers of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) to shun corruption and be civil while discharging their duties. Sanwo-Olu gave the warning during an interactive session with staff of the agency, during his visit to the LASTMA office in Oshodi.
“Lagosians expect a corrupt-free LASTMA that will not be collecting bribes. Therefore, you should be respectful and courteous even when you are going to arrest an offender.
“Lagosians want LASTMA that is decent and neat; we don’t want laziness and lateness to work. Be my advocates,” the governor said.

The wife of the President, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, has announced her decision to be addressed as the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
She said this would take effect immediately in order to resolve the issue of the title of wives of governors.Buhari disclosed her new official title at the presentation of awards to the former and current wives of Governors of the 36 states. The event held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
“When my husband was newly elected, I personally chose to be called the wife of the President,” she said. “But, I realised that it causes confusion from the state as to whether the wives of state governors are to be addressed as the first ladies or wives of the governors. So, forgive me for confusing you from the beginning, but now I chose to be called the first lady.”
Hahahahahaha. E be like say the spirit of Ms. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has come over Aunty Aisha. Feminism stays winning!
How to enter Buhari’s blacklist
President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to blacklist any firm, its owner and top management caught smuggling or dumping any of the restricted 43 items into Nigeria.
The Presidential directive was disclosed by the CBN Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele in Abuja during a meeting with oil palm producers. Emefiele also said the presidential directive mandated the apex bank to expand and provide support to firms and individuals that want to expand the production of ten different commodities in Nigeria.
The items include rice, maize, cassava, tomatoes, cotton, oil palm, poultry, fish, livestock dairy and cocoa.
Hmmm. But why una no include those importing pizza on the list? That one na crime too!
A Super Eagles striker is an optimist
Super Eagles striker, Paul Onuachu, has stated that the national team have what it takes to reach the final of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
The FC Midtjylland striker, who has been capped twice, scoring once in Nigeria’s 1-0 win over Egypt in an international friendly, stated that there were lots of talented players in the squad that could help Nigeria achieve the feat.
“Nigeria is a football nation. Everyone knows about us, even other African countries. Whenever they want to play against Nigeria they are always scared because they know Nigeria are a big name in Africa,” the 25-year-old said. “I think we have quality players, we also have good coaches to really help us go all the way to the final, and I’m sure that with hard work and dedication, we can win the trophy.”
