CAN: When support comes too soon

In a video that has surfaced online, some representatives of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) visited the Abuja branch of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) during yesterday’s service. The visit is coming on the heels of the rape allegation trailing the Global Senior Pastor of COZA, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, who was accused of rape by Busola Dakolo, the wife of Nigerian singer, Timi Dakolo.

Speaking during the service yesterday, the president of CAN Abuja, Reverend Jonah Samson and CAN President North Central, Reverend Israel Akanji spoke to the congregation, pledging their support and prayers for Fatoyinbo and COZA church.

Reverend Jonah said: “I assure you that we are with you and we will continue to be with you. We are in support of the church. We are in support of your pastor. We stand by him. and this church will continue to match forward. I declare that the gates of hell shall not prevail against this church in the mighty name of Jesus.”

Shameful. So ‘the church’ supersedes the suffering and pain of a member of its own ba? Says a lot about the hypocrisy and pure evil in ‘the church’.

SARS strike again

An operative of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) has shot dead a cleaner identified as Francis. The incident happened today on Ajisegiri Street, in the Ilupeju area of Lagos State.

The policeman and his team members were reported to have shot at a group of hemp smokers when the victim was killed.  The cops were reported to have fled the scene immediately.

A photo of the incident posted on social media by a witness revealed a bucket containing brooms, a parker, and brush belonging to the deceased, beside his remains.

Again. Another senseless killing. This country is starting to be a death trap!

The crying pastor

The Serving Overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly, Lagos, Pastor Tunde Bakare, went a little emotional on Sunday when he broke down in tears while lamenting the gruesome murder of Mrs Funke Olakunrin, the daughter of Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti. While delivering his Sunday sermon in his church in Lagos, Bakare wondered how Nigeria had found itself in a situation where life counted for nothing even to the leaders, adding that with the latest killing, Nigeria’s ‘cup is full.’

The cleric submitted that security agencies had used different standards for different categories of people whose kinsmen were victims of criminals in the country. Bakare said, “The other day, the wife of the Governor of Central Bank (of Nigeria) was kidnapped; and within a few hours, they did not just rescue the woman, they also arrested those who perpetrated the crime.

“Now, the daughter of Pa Fasoranti has been killed, and we have been hearing only stories, nothing tangible has been achieved.”

Truth is, how many times has the government come out to speak against the killings of thousands of ordinary Nigerians? I’m not saying there is a greater death but I think it’s high time we start to call out the bullsh*t.

Coach Rohr is a truthful coach

Super Eagles Coach Gernot Rohr has admitted that his team lost to a better side in the semifinals of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt on Sunday. Rohr told newsmen during a post-match interview that it was a game of two halves, adding however that Algeria were the better side at the end of the day.

“Until the last minute, Algeria had a better first half than us, but we came back a much better team in the second half,” Rohr said. “Unfortunately, we conceded a goal in the last minute. I think the players wanted to go to extra-time believing that perhaps Algeria will get tired and we could win the match in extra time

“It was a wonderful game. We lost it, so we are not happy. Congrats to the winners. They were the better team in the first half.”

Mtcheew. After una don spoil ticket. Scam.

Mike Tyson turns adviser over Joshua-Ruiz match

Mike Tyson has warned Anthony Joshua he will not beat Andy Ruiz Jr in a rematch if he does not fully commit himself to boxing.

Joshua is set to seek immediate revenge over Ruiz Jr after losing his world titles to the Mexican in a shock defeat last May in New York.

Tyson himself was on the wrong end of some upset victories, including his 1990 loss to Buster Douglas, and the former heavyweight champion insisted Joshua needs to get his mind right before agreeing a rematch. “He made a mistake, got hurt, and s*** happens,” he said on his podcast. “He can win it back though, but his mind has to be right. He ain’t gonna win it back if his mind’s f***** up. His mind’s gotta be right, he’s gotta dedicate his life to doing this.”

Mtcheew. After that disappointment, I don’t even care anymore (Okay, I’m lying, I do care) but my hand never rise AJ fall am.
