Senator Abu Ibrahim aka Eyan Mayweather

Abu Ibrahim of All Progressives Congress (APC), representing Katsina South Senatorial district in the Senate, has vowed to ‘do everything possible’ to see that Senate President Bukola Saraki doesn’t get re-elected. “Quote me, we would do everything possible to see that he loses his seat…It is not even the issue of becoming the Senate president. It’s a challenge I’m giving him,” he said. LOL. This Oga is talking tough o. So reminiscent of those secondary school bullies that will want you to react when they find your trouble and when you do, they will beat you on top.

Sirens come, Sirens go

The Imo State Police Command has issued a seven-day ultimatum to vehicle owners to remove unauthorised tinted glasses, revolving lights, sirens, and plate numbers from their vehicles. It also advised government officials, who use government plate numbers on their personal vehicles, to remove them without further delay. This, the Command reports, is to enable the police checkmate nefarious activities before, during and after the forthcoming elections. Okay, we have heard, but the police should also ban themselves from blaring sirens in traffic like they want to get to heaven before any of us!

How to know an African politician

In a statement released on Monday, the government of Democratic Republic of Congo has said the two decrees that grant ministers lifetime salaries and other benefits ‘are to stop them (ministers) from falling into destitution’ and ‘are not to enrich the officials’. It also said the decrees is a way ‘to satisfy their (ministers) basic needs, notably food, lodging and healthcare’. Story. If you’re an African, especially Nigerian, you would know that ‘Politician’ is an actual job status.  Methinks it’s about time we prefix that job title with “Corrupt”.
