‘We no follow o, the visit and visitors are OYO!’

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has disassociated itself from the purported solidarity visit to Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA)last Sunday.

In a statement issued on Monday, the National Director of Legal and Public Affairs, CAN, Evangelist Kwamkur Samuel Vondip, a barrister, said that the purported solidarity visit and video had nothing to do with the group.

“This message is to categorically inform the Christian leaders, the general public and all lovers of truth that CAN or the President of CAN did not approve and knows nothing about such a solidarity visit,” he said. “Those who did so did it on their own. We stand by our earlier release on this issue that while we would never support any act of immorality from whatever quarter, we would not jump into passing judgement without a thorough investigation of the matter.”

LOL. That this happened says a lot about CAN. If una no fit talk with one mouth, na ‘The Church’ una go fit keep together?

Issa goal! Tanko ti wole

The Senate has reportedly confirmed the nomination of Justice Tanko Mohammad as the substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN). President of the Senate, Dr. Ahmad Lawan announced the confirmation on Wednesday at the plenary few minutes after Mohammad was screened by the lawmakers.

Moving away from tradition, the lawmakers of the 9th Senate unanimously agreed to go into a closed-door session to screen Justice Muhammad rather than during plenary as has been the custom over the years.

President Muhammadu Buhari named Muhammad to the position after the former CJN Walter Onnoghen, was suspended when corruption charges were brought against him.

Someone said our president is setting formation, arranging his defence against attack and strengthening his strike force. Because I’m a lazy Nigerian youth, I didn’t ask for further explanation. You shouldn’t too.

Buhari dey vex with ‘unpatriotic Nigerians’

President Muhammadu Buhari has said those faulting his administration’s handling of the worsening insecurity in the country were not “patriotic Nigerians.” He argued that his critics chose “isolated incidents” in assessing the administration, adding that such cases were being politicised.

Speaking at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday when he received the National Executive members of the Buhari Campaign Organisation, Buhari accused his critics of not being patriotic.

“Every country has security challenges; while we have made significant progress in fighting against terrorism, we acknowledge that there are new and emerging challenges of kidnapping and banditry,” the president stated. “Those who politicise the isolated incidents of insecurity are not patriotic Nigerians. I am confident that this administration will use all the resources at its disposal to protect the lives of all Nigerians and not just prominent Nigerians but all.”

Mtcheew. So we should keep quiet about bad government policies so as to be considered patriotic Nigerians? Na this kind reasoning go make us continue to talk!

Wizzy ‘on the beat’

Ayo Balogun aka Wizkid’s manager and the mother of his third child, Jada Pollock has accused him allegedly of domestic violence.

She wrote on Instagram @__jada.p, “From today, Ayo and I will no longer work together. I have been in an abusive relationship with him for years. Covering up for him time and time again and I am tired. Wiz continuously puts his hands on me, leaves me with bruises that I cover up from the world, including my friends and family.

“It often feels like we are at war in the same house. I have done all I can to keep this all together but from today, I let go.” Wizkid’s relationship with Pollock began on professional terms before the arrival of their child causing rifts between the mothers of his children.

A day of reckoning for abusers in Nigeria is coming. Damn, aren’t we all abusers sef?
