‘Remember me in your kingdom’

Senator Oluremi Tinubu on Monday requested for employment slots for members of her constituency from Babatunde Raji Fashola during his ministerial screening at the Senate.

“Remember in your first tenure, I did not get the opportunity to get some of my constituents employed,” Remi Tinubu told Fashola, who served as power, works and housing minister during President Muhammadu Buhari’s first term.

“When you get there this time around, remember that we senators have our constituents who ask us for employment.”

Mtcheew. Na so e dey start. Later that one will be telling us grammer about bad roads or uncooperative Discos.

What a time to be alive…for APC

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, on Monday, claimed that he has provided good leadership for the party. According to him, Nigerians are appreciating APC better under his leadership.

Oshiomhole had taken over APC chairmanship from Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, who hails from the same state, Edo. Speaking with State House correspondents after meeting President Muhammadu Buhari, Oshiomhole said that APC now has more members in the National Assembly and also controlling the leadership of the two chambers.

He also maintained that APC, under him, was able to uproot the former Senate President, Bukola Saraki and his cronies, politically.

LOL. Indeed. As if Gandollar or Mace Runner didn’t happen under his nose.

Imo people deserve apologies

The Committee on Recovery of Stolen Imo government assets set up by governor Emeka Ihedioha has told the immediate past governor of the state, Rochas Okorocha, to apologise to the people over the sins he committed against the state.

A statement issued in Owerri on Sunday by Iheanyi Enwerm, on behalf of the committee said that Okorocha should be in a sober mood owing to the number of government assets recovered from his family members and political allies. The statement said that vehicles, soundproof power generators, chairs, doors, roofing sheets, rugs, kitchen utensils, had allegedly been recovered from members of Okorocha’s family and political allies. The statement also said that looted government assets were discovered at a warehouse in Owerri, which allegedly belongs to Okorocha’s wife.

“…Chief Okorocha and his family members should apologise to Imolites for the primitive manner they plundered the state’s resources for eight years. Not done with the looting, they, having lost their ill-conceived gubernatorial election, resorted to carting away properties belonging to government.”

LOL. My own is, I hope Ihedioha will keep Commissioner for Happiness. That woman will be useful to him. Okorocha that appointed her doesn’t have two heads.

Courtrooms like no other

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) on Monday painted a sordid and decrepit picture of the courtrooms in Kwara State. NBA also lamented the dearth of courtrooms and offices in the state judiciary.

Ilorin branch chair of NBA, Mohammed Akande told reporters this in Ilorin, the state capital on the sideline of 2019 biennial law week.

“In Kwara State we still have like four or five magistrates sharing a courtroom. So the judicial time/productive hours are being wasted. The ministry of justice needs a better accommodation. Today you see between seven and eight lawyers sharing an office. This will affect their productivity. Therefore, funding of the stakeholders in the administration of criminal justice is essential.”

This is small matter joor. When snakes come crawling in, then we will care.

Ronaldo is a no-show

More than 2,000 South Korean football fans will sue a sports agency after superstar Cristiano Ronaldo stayed on the bench when his Juventus side played a friendly in Seoul last week, a law firm said on Monday.

The star Portuguese striker did not play a single second of the match against a K-league all-star team, ignoring appeals from the sell-out 65,000 crowd at the World Cup Stadium to lace up his boots.

With frustration mounting some even chanted the name of his great Argentine rival Lionel Messi. When the game was first announced, organisers said the contract with Juventus obliged Ronaldo to play for at least 45 minutes, prompting many fans to splash out, according to Seoul law firm Myungan.

LOL. Elaborate scam. ‘Italian Mafia style’.
