One of the suspects that allegedly kidnapped the village head of Hunki, in Awe Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, Alhaji Umaru Jibrin, has been arrested by the Police. The suspect was reportedly arrested in an eatery in the town, where the victim had also gone to eat.
Speaking with journalists during the parade of the suspect alongside others by the Nasarawa State Police Command, Jibrin said: “I identified one of those who kidnapped me at an eatery. When he noticed me at the eatery, he immediately tried to escape while the food was being served.
“It was then I recollected that he was one of those that kidnapped me and I quickly alerted those within the vicinity and he was caught. They released me from their den after my relations managed to raise N600,000 ransom.” Confessing, the suspect, Musa Adamu, admitted that he was among those that kidnapped the village head.
LOL. Mama-Put is indeed a melting pot. The kidnapper now understands the ancient wisdom that nobody ignores the stomach’s grumbling – man cannot live by ransom alone – and sometimes you will get caught while trying to satiate that need.

However, under cross-examination, the witness, who was subpoenaed to appear before the Justice Mohammed Garba-led five-member panel tribunal, said he could not confirm Buhari’s Cambridge Assessment International Certified Statement Of West African School Certificate issued in 1961, which was earlier admitted in evidence as exhibit R-21.
“This document is not bearing my name or signature. You cannot expect me to certify a document that is not from WAEC. This document is bearing Cambridge Assessment International Certified Statement. It is not a document from the WAEC,” the witness stated.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has taken a swipe at the federal government over its insistence that places of worship must obtain licences from the Ministry of Interior before conducting weddings under the Marriage Act. CAN’s Legal Adviser, Samuel Kwamkur, said the federal government had an ulterior motive for insisting that churches must obtain licences from the Interior ministry.
Kwamkur said, “I think there is an ulterior motive towards that. In any case, the registration by churches is done once and it is done by their headquarters. So, the issue of going to renew their licences to contract marriages is very strange, I don’t think it is something the Church can accept. If not for the purposes of travelling, I wonder why they are raising the issue.
“As a Church, we cannot be bound by what they are saying. We have our registration, guidelines and records as churches and we operate independently, so no government can coerce us. The validity of marriage should be beyond the validity of certificate.”

Kyari, who was led through his deposition by Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, counsel for the president, insisted that Jada, the hometown of the former vice president was in Adamawa Province, an enclave that belonged to Northern Cameroon in 1946 when he (Atiku) was born.
He explained that Atiku was already born in 1946 before the plebiscite was conducted in 1961 to divide Nigeria and Cameroon when Jada which was part of Northern Cameroon voted to become Nigerian territory. Kyari further said that the plebiscite also resulted in the Southern part of Cameroon officially aligning to becoming Cameroonian territory.
