El-Zakzaky is free…for now at least

Kaduna High Court on Monday granted the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), Ibraheem El-Zakzaky leave to go to India for medical treatment. The IMN leader and his wife had applied to the courtseeking to travel, following poor health while in detention.

The State Director of Public Prosecution, Mr Dari Bayero, who is the respondent in El-Zakzaky’s application, said the team had taken time and examined the eight medical reports by Nigerian and foreign doctors that accompanied the IMN leader’s application.

“The context of the court ruling is that Sheikh Zakzaky and his wife are granted leave to travel out for urgent medical attention,” he said. “The court looked through the medical reports filed and believed Mallam is indeed in dire need of medical attention. This is not a bail, but a leave to travel. So as soon as his discharge from the hospital and he returns to the country, his trial will resume.”

Okay. Good that El-Zakzaky chose India and not London…because the latter has been booked by you-know-who.

It’s time to retreat and surrender

The Police Command in Enugu State on Sunday issued a 3-day ultimatum for people in possession of unlicensed and unauthorised firearms to surrender them to the command.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Ebere Amaraizu, said this in a statement made available in Enugu.

“The Command…wishes to make it categorically clear that anyone found in possession of any unlicensed/unauthorised firearms after the expiration of the three days given will be diligently prosecuted in line with the relevant section of the law,” he said. “The security operatives of the Command working in partnership with sister security agencies and relevant stakeholders have been directed by the commissioner of police to fish out those within the categories mentioned…”

My Enugu brethens, it’s time to get paid: whistleblowing job don land.

Back to the Roots!

American actor and film producer, Samuel L. Jackson has traced his roots to Gabon. The Hollywood veteran found out his ancestry through Finding Your Roots, an American docu-series that uses traditional genealogical research and genetics to discover the family history of celebrities.

Jackson traced his roots to the Bantu tribe in Gabon. The Bantu people are the speakers of Bantu languages, comprising several hundred indigenous ethnic groups in sub-Saharan Africa, spread over a vast area from Central Africa across the African Great Lakes to Southern Africa.

“It was an honour and a gift to meet you @president_abo and @sylviabongo Thank you for the wonderful reception and for giving me such a warm welcome to Gabon!,” Jackson posted on Instagram.

I think it’s high time I trace my own ancestry back to Paris. It’s a bad thing to lose sight of one’s roots.

To love a father…in disguise

A drug dealer in Brazil was caught trying to escape from the jail where he was locked up by disguising himself as his 19-year-old daughter. Prison authorities in Rio de Janeiro released a video showing the inmate wearing a wig, a silicone mask, a bra and a tight-fitting T-shirt.

They said the 19-year-old had come to visit her father, Clauvino da Silva, at the jail in Rio de Janeiro known as Bangu 3, where he was serving a sentence of 73 years and 10 months. The prison authorities said Silva was planning to leave his daughter behind while he made a dash for freedom by impersonating her. But the guards were not fooled by the homemade disguise, and after making him pose in front of the prison for photos they released to the press, the convict was returned to a cell.

Officials said the daughter could be charged with aiding a prison escape.

For a daughter so loved her father, that she gave him disguise costumes, that if the police believeth in him he will not perish, but flee into thin air. Amen somebody.

Early morning beauty tips by a urinator

A mother claims she has found the secret to good skin, but it is not something for everyone. Ruby Karyo, 30, has been practising ‘urine therapy’ for the last 11 years and even sprays it on her face as part of her beauty regime.

The mum-of-one said she first realised the benefits of rubbing wee on her face when her dad told her about it. Ruby said: “He said ‘if you want to be a beauty queen use it on your face and your body’.

“When I wake up I rub my morning pee onto my face and use it like a moisturiser, you can leave it on for a couple of hours, or leave it on all day. Every night when you go to sleep you can put it on your face. For the first few days your face might look a bit raw, because all the impurities will come out, but then it will become clear.”

LOL. It’s because of fathers like this that there’s Proverbs 22: 6. Anyway sha, people of God, you’ll never know the good in something until you try it. I’ll be here waiting for situation report.
