Okorocha and Ihedioha continue rat race

The immediate past governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, on Wednesday said his successor, Emeka Ihedioha, was destroying projects executed by his administration in order to discredit his achievements and the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) legacy in the South-East.

He also said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) administration in the state was fighting him because of the defeat the party suffered through him in the 2011 and 2015 general elections, when he won the governorship election on the platform of the APC.

But Ihedioha, while reacting through his Special Adviser on media, Steve Osuji, said Okorocha’s allegations against him were baseless. He said, “The Imo State Governor is more preoccupied with the challenges of rebuilding the state.”

This two just be like Tom and Jerry. And it’s only a  Minister for Happiness that will dash them lasting peace.

Operation too young to bet

Lagos State Lotteries Board (LSLB) has warned licensed operators not to allow minors take bet at their outlets. Speaking on Wednesday at a news briefing in Ikeja, General Manager/ Chief Executive Officer Seun Anibaba said operators who fail to heed the warning of “Game Responsibly” would be fined, suspended and they might lose their licences.

He said bet advertisements should not be placed near schools, adding that advertisements on television, which attracted children under 18 years, would be sanctioned.

Anibaba appealed to parents to sensitise and warn their children, who are minors, not to get close to any betting centre.

Good. Something too should be done about children street-hawking; they should be getting an education and being…just children.

‘Make una be cheerful givers biko’

The senator representing Sokoto East Senatorial District, Senator Ibrahim Abdullahi Gobir, has appealed to wealthy Nigerians, corporate bodies and other public spirited individuals on the urgent need to assist Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in various locations across the country.

Gobir, who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on National Security and Intelligence, made the appeal while donating food items and relief materials to some IDPs in various communities within his senatorial district.

According to the lawmaker, assisting the needy in the various communities with gainful employment and provision of amenities could go a long way in reducing hunger and desperation that sometimes lead to crime in many communities.

Okay na. Make we see how some wealthy ogas go leave Super Eagles bonus-giving to face IDPs.

Who’s your mummy?

An elderly woman chased away a home intruder by biting him after he called her his ‘mama.’ Alicia Coleman, 61, said she woke up on Monday to her fire alarm and opened her apartment door – which is when 34-year-old Fitzroy Morton tried to get inside.

Coleman, who lives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida told WSVN: “He was telling me, ‘NO, mama. Everything’s gon’ be alright.’ (I said) Everything’s not going to be all right. I’m not your mama. I don’t know who you are. Get out of my house.” Morton then brandished ‘a big butcher knife’ and tried to shove past Coleman into her apartment, she said, but she refused to back down.

“I was able to bite him…With the little teeth I got, I bit him! I felt some kind of danger. I sensed it, and I seen that look on his face. My life were in danger.” Coleman struggled with the intruder and was able to flee her apartment and ran to a neighbour’s house and called the police. They arrived a short time later and arrested Morton.

LOL. Big ups to this fearless mama. May your teeth live long.

Excuses:  Second name for Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua admits he was not fully focused before his shock defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr and has revealed that the boos he heard during his loss in New York had an impact on his tactics for the fight.

Joshua suffered the first defeat of his career at Madison Square Garden in June as he was knocked down four times before Ruiz sealed his surprise victory in the seventh round.

“In the second round I heard the crowd booing, someone told me there was a fight going on in the arena, that’s why,” he told JD Sports.
