A ‘perilous’ time to enter obodo oyibo for Igbo politicians

Divine Mandate International (DMI), has warned the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) that it won’t tolerate any intimidation on Governor David Umahi or any other Igbo leader by the outlawed group in theUK. The warning came on the heels of last weekend’s attack on Senator Ike Ekweremmadu in Nuremberg Germany by members of IPOB and further threats by same group to attack South-East Governors and other Igbo leaders anywhere they are seen abroad.

The group strongly condemned IPOB for attacking Ekweremadu, describing their action as shameful, barbaric and disgraceful.

“We will cooperate with relevant authorities to ensure that the miscreants and their supporters anywhere, face the full weight of the law,” the group said. “Additionally, we are working with our UK authorities and Ohanaeze UK and its affiliate organisations to weed out such actions. The UK can never be Germany.”

Okay na. Oga Dave Umahi, over to you o. But I’d advise you put off all foreign visits until the situation cools. Make sons of men no use you ginger their inner Anthony Joshua.

Fatoyinbo pulls a no-show

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has declared a probe into the rape accusation by celebrity photographer, Busola Dakolo, against founder of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo inconclusive. It said the five-man investigative panel it set up sat for over a month with presentations and attendance by key stakeholders such as Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), church leaders and others.

National Publicity Secretary of the PFN, Bishop Emma Isong, who briefed reporters on Thursday on the outcome of the panel’s sitting said Busola and her husband, Timi Dakolo also attended the sittings. He said the panel could not conclude its work because Fatoyinbo refused to show up despite “several invitations and efforts”, despite asking the body to intervene during the heat of the accusation.

Isong stressed: “Several efforts were made. Several calls were made but he rebuffed us. He shunned the invitation of the panel to defend himself.”

Mtcheew. Oga Fatoyinbo is busy tending his flock. Why should he bother to come and defend himself in this kind of matter? Abi don’t you know he’s a man of God and is only answerable to Him?

More money, less power and the tunnel has no light at its end

The federal government through the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has increased the tariff payable by power consumers across the country. Findings from various documents obtained from the NERC on Wednesday in Abuja showed that beginning from next year, power consumers will have to pay an additional sum of between N8 and N14 for every kilowatt-hour of energy provided by their respective distribution companies.

The NERC also revealed the actual cost reflective tariff for each of the 11 power distribution companies operating in Nigeria.

The tariff increase for each Disco differs, going by figures in the documents from the commission.

Hungry men are…greedy men

Four suspected kidnappers who reportedly collected N3.5m, a carton of schnapps, 30 litres of palm oil and 10 tubers of yam before their victims were released have been arrested. The Police Public Relations Officer in Ogun State, Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed this on Wednesday.

The kidnappers were reported to have abducted three persons in Ode-Omi in the Ogun Waterside Local Government Area of Ogun State — a boundary community between Lagos and Ogun states — on the eve of the last Eid-el Adha.

Oyeyemi said operatives of anti-kidnapping unit of the Police Command had laid an ambush for the kidnappers since the incident happened.

Not yet time to meet the parent

A man who has sued his unfaithful estranged wife, after discovering that her eight-year-old son is not his, has been barred from publicising the name of the father.

The man wants the woman to return ‘every penny’ he spent on the child he thought was his son but was fathered by someone she had an affair with. He also wants damages to compensate for distress.

A High Court judge has decided that the woman must tell her husband, and son, the name of the man she says is the father. But Mr Justice Cohen has ordered the man not to publicise the other man’s name. The judge said the boy must not be told until the time was right. He said a social worker would give advice and decide when the boy should be given the information.

Hmmm. This matter get as e be sha.
