The chairman of Air Peace, Mr. Allen Onyema, has warned Nigerians scheduled for repatriation from South Africa to refrain from paying $1,000 or any amount of money whatsoever for their flight.
“We have not designated or recruited any agent in South Africa to collect money on behalf of Air Peace,” Onyema said. “So, nobody should pay money to anyone or group of persons posing as Air Peace agent or staff. “Any Nigerian who has paid money for repatriation to Nigeria with Air Peace should request for a refund and report to appropriate authorities.”

Alison-Madueke loses fight to keep expensive jewellery and phone
The Federal High Court in Lagos on Tuesday ordered the permanent forfeiture of the 2,149 pieces of jewellery and a customised gold iPhone, valued at $40m, recovered from the Abuja home of a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke.
In a ruling on Tuesday, Justice Nicholas Oweibo held that Diezani, through her lawyer, Awa Kalu (SAN), failed to show cause why the items should not be permanently forfeited to the federal government.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had told the judge that the jewellery and iPhone were reasonably suspected to be acquired with fraud proceeds. The anti-graft agency said the items were beyond Diezani’s legitimate earnings.

Sharp couple spending someone else’s money
Two people in the US have been charged with theft after spending thousands of dollars their bank mistakenly deposited into their account.
The couple also faces over $100,000 in overdraft fees, having purchased an SUV and other goods, police say. The affidavit says the couple admitted knowing the money was not theirs.
