The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPC) has declared that there is no evidence that theIndependent National Electoral Commission (INEC) transmitted the results of the last presidential election electronically to any server.
The court, in the judgment still being read on the petition by Atiku Abubakar and PDP, held that the petitioners failed to prove the existence of an INEC server or that the electoral commission transmitted results electronically. The court held that there is no law in place in Nigeria that allows electronic transmission of results or the transmission of result using card reader.
“I have carefully examined and examined Exhibit 28 (INEC Manual for Election) tendered by the petitioners, I did not see where there is provision for electronic transmission of result of election,” PEPC Presiding Justice, Justice Mohammed Garba said.

The cries of ‘Okoro Hausa’
Sen. Rochas Okorocha, the immediate past governor of Imo state, has lamented the humiliating treatment meted out to him by his party the All Progressives Congress (APC), in spite of his sacrifices and financial contributions to the party.
Okorocha, the senator representing Imo West Senatorial District, told newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday that he got an evil reward from APC for his commitment to the course of the party, especially in the South-east.
He noted that he had to go contrary to his kinsmen and political associates just to ensure that the party was placed on a sound footing in Imo and in the South-east, but was surprised that his reward was a suspension. He said: “If you recall I was called all sorts of names like ‘Okoro Hausa’ and that I was building mosques and all that is associated with it. But I kept deaf ears because I felt that I was on the right course with my people.”

Wise words from Lumumba
A former director of the Kenyan anti-corruption agency, Prof. Patrick Lumumba, on Tuesday, said the reason why corruption still thrived in Nigeria was because the people were not yet tired of the practice. He said in a society such as Nigeria where people still celebrated those that fraudulently enriched themselves, corruption would continue to thrive.
“Corruption is a crime against humanity. Experiences have demonstrated that if a people in a country are sufficiently fed up, they will rise up,” he said. “In Romania, we saw that the people themselves were dissatisfied with the conduct of their party officials and they changed the attitude of the leadership. Sometimes, I think Nigerians and many Africans are not fed up. Because the day we are fed up, things will begin to change.”

A woman, a knife and a castrated man
A man’s penis had to be put on ice after his wife chopped it off with a knife. Chief Detective Jason Wank said police did not yet know why Victoria Frabutt, 56, tied her husband James, 61, up and severed his manhood.
They were called to a house in Newport, North Carolina, at 4am yesterday. They rushed Mr Frabutt to hospital along with his penis where it was hoped surgeons could reattach it.

Death by Konji Express
A French company has been found liable for the death of an employee who had a cardiac arrest while having sex with a stranger on a business trip. A Paris court ruled that his death was an industrial accident and that the family was entitled to compensation.
The firm had argued that the man was not carrying out professional duties when he joined a guest in her hotel room.
But under French law an employer is responsible for any accident occurring during a business trip, judges said.
