According to Premium Times, the presiding judge, Douglas Miller, at the Newport News, Virginia, federal courthouse, declared the case as “complex,” but said Okeke should be remanded in prison until February 18, 2020 when the trial would continue.

Buhari’s battle cry to Nigeria Police Force
According to a statement by the President’s spokesman, Femi Adesina, he was speaking Tuesday in Abuja while receiving the 2018 Annual Report of the Commission. President Buhari said, “the Commission has the most challenging responsibility of carrying out oversight responsibilities of the Police Force.
“The people that comprise this commission are mostly personally known to me and some of them have been through the mill as it were, therefore I expect them to put the Police in order. I personally believe that the Inspector General is doing his best …the Police are always in the frontline and unless we get the police working effectively, the security of this country will remain in doubt.”
Nice speech. Oya get the police to start working. I’m sure they are tired of dodging soldiers.
The letter writer is back
Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, has urged the African countries, whose citizens were affected by xenophobic attacks in South Africa to report to the African Union. Obasanjo also advised the affected countries including Nigeria to take other measures if the first option did not yield the desired results.
He said, “For any African country to encourage or allow or not seriously sanction xenophobia against Africans in their country is a great disservice not only to the country where xenophobia takes place and the countries of the victims concerned, but also a great disservice to the whole of Africa and black race.”
True words. By the way, OBJ is really out here fighting for the survival of letter writing.
Madam Due process causing trouble
Oby Ezekwesili, a former presidential candidate, on Tuesday, urged the newly constituted Economic Advisory Council to make it a priority to tell President Muhammadu Buhari how he has allegedly mismanaged the economy.
She also absolved Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who headed the dissolved Economic Management Team, of any blame in how the Nigerian economy had turned out. “I hope the first thing they do is tell the President how he mismanaged the economy in the last four years,” she said.

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has advised Nigerians to stop the consumption of non-iodised salt, saying “It is dangerous to human health.”
Dr Abubakar Jimoh, the Director of Public Affairs of the agency gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja on Tuesday. The director spoke while responding to the rumour that people in the rural communities were still consuming the local salt, which was not processed.
He said that the consumption of such local salt could lead to goitre and other diseases dangerous to human health and called on Nigerians to do away with the product.
