The future doesn’t look bright for Adamawa students
Mr Rodney Nathan, the chairman of Adamawa State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) has said that the allegation of rape levelled against a teacher was untrue as the teacher and the alleged rape victim, 12, were in a relationship. Mr Nathan made the claim in an interview with Nigerian Tribune in Yola on Wednesday.
He said that the Adamawa Police Command, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps had prematurely concluded that it was a case of rape, without completing their investigations. He said that as of the time of the teacher’s arrest, the keys to his room were with the girl in question, which he said suggested that the duo were consciously engaged in a mutual relationship.
The NUT chairman asked, “At what point did the rape take place, was it six months ago, or now that it was discovered that the schoolgirl is carrying a six-month pregnancy?” He reportedly went on to blame the girl’s parents and the village, which allegedly knew about the affair but did nothing to discourage it.
Ah! What brand of craziness is this? This chairman needs to be made a chairman in one of our psych wards. ASAP.
It’s Nigerian army again with another track by BH
Boko Haram fighters are fleeing to neighbouring countries following military bombardments of their strongholds in the northeast, the Army announced on Thursday.
Col Musa said: “The Nigerian Army wishes to inform the public that due to the combined onslaught on the identified hideouts of the criminal elements of bandits and erstwhile Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters by our troops and the MNJTF, at the fringes of Lake Chad region, there is observed massive exodus of the criminals out of Lake Chad Tumbus to North and Central Africa sub-regions.”

Shout alleluia! Nigerians shall soon see the light
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has said the lower chamber of the National Assembly would ensure that Nigerians get the electricity they pay for. Gbajabiamila said the House of Representatives would give adequate attention to the practice of estimated billing by electricity distribution companies to address the challenges Nigerians face.
He said the House would not tolerate a situation where electricity distribution companies (Discos) take advantage of Nigerians by issuing outrageous bills to them, stressing that the lawmakers had resolved to revisit a proposed law against it.
Hmmm. Forgive me for my skepticism but you know, this light wahala don show Nigerians pepper. Make we dey watch sha.
On Dare-devil fraudsters
Minister of Youth and Sport Development, Sunday Dare, has raised the alarm over the hack of his Facebook account. The hackers, he warned, have been impersonating him, soliciting for contracts from the federal government.
Lere-Adams said: “For the records, the Ministry and indeed the Honourable Minister wish to notify the general public to carefully verify all information emanating from the Minister’s social media platforms as these hackers are out to smear the image of Mr Sunday Dare, the Ministry and in effect the federal government of Nigeria.”
LOL. Them don start. Later now one artiste will preach about the benefits of online fraud.
Blast from the past
Time magazine posted the photo, which it says was published in the yearbook from the West Point Grey Academy, a private school in British Columbia where Mr Trudeau worked as a teacher before entering politics. The photo depicts him wearing a turban and robe, with dark make-up on his hands, face and neck.
Mr Trudeau, who launched his reelection campaign a week ago, said he should have known better. “I’m pissed off at myself, I’m disappointed in myself,” he told reporters travelling with him on his campaign plane. The photo’s publication could spell more trouble for Mr Trudeau, who polls say is facing a serious challenge from Conservative leader Andrew Scheer.
True, true, the Internet never forgets. Oga Justin, na only you waka come this one o.
