Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, how market?

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu on Thursday night asked members of the separatist group to participate in Nigeria’s general elections on Saturday after initially calling for a boycott. “Having confirmed this evening that all our preconditions and terms have been met, signed, sealed and delivered; I hereby call-off the election boycott across Biafraland on Feb. 16, 2019,” Kanu said. Chai. Sincerely, though, I’m quite interested in these terms and conditions that ‘have been met, signed, sealed and delivered’, do they come in brown envelopes and Ghana-Must-Go bags?

Rotimi ‘Oluwa Burna’ Amaechi

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has accused the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, of plotting to bomb INEC offices, destroy voting materials at registration area centres and disrupt the peaceful conduct of the Saturday elections in the state. “Credible intelligence has linked Rotimi Amaechi and his cohorts…with plans to prevent the peaceful conduct of the general elections in Rivers State with the support of some unpatriotic military and police officers,” Wike said in a state broadcast ahead of the general elections. No comment. These accusations gather muscles pass the one wey Pharisees and Scribes give Jesus that year.

Sarri and that smelly team

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has said he would rather avoid a reunion with his former team Napoli in the Europa League. “I would avoid playing in Naples, if possible, because it would be too strong an emotional response for me to focus on the game,” said Sarri. “If Napoli-Chelsea means we are both in the Final, however, then I’d be happy for both.” Humph. The only team Sarri should be wary of is the one that turned up on the field for a 6-0 hammering from Manchester City.

Accusation galore

According to the All Progressives Congress spokesman, Lanre Issa-Onilu, Peoples Democratic Party is planning on ‘using faceless bloggers to attack frontline security agencies’ in order to discredit the presidential polls holding on Saturday. “The main opposition party has perfected plans to share money to persons and actors considered critical to the success of the elections. The PDP has also perfected plans to distribute between 5 and 10 million dollars to the States for ‘logistics and mobilisation’ on election day.” Hmmm. O deep gan. How political parties know things during this election period has me wondering what else they haven’t yet revealed: perhaps Abubakar Shekau’s phone number.
