African time vs Japanese time: No agreement
Japan’s Olympics Minister, Yoshitaka Sakurada, has publicly apologised after arriving three minutes late to a parliamentary meeting on Thursday. Opposition MPs said his tardiness showed disrespect for his office and boycotted a meeting of the budget committee for five hours in protest. This is not the first in a series of controversies that has plagued the minister’s name. In a poll asking whether Mr Sakurada was suitable for the job, 65% of respondents said he was not. Haba, these Japanese people are too serious o. And they even spent ‘five hours in protest’. Five hours that we in Naija add to the official time for an event before leaving our houses.
MASSOB to Nigerian Army: ‘We no wan see your shadow’
In a press statement issued in Owerri, the Imo State capital, by the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) leader, Uchenna Madu, the separatists warned the Nigerian military to stay clear of the polling units during this weekend’s rescheduled Presidential and National Assembly polls and termed their involvement by President Muhammadu Buhari as an act of ‘wild desperation and frustration’. Okay. My own is INEC should not Amaka us again. And potential ballot snatchers, make una try respect una age na!
Sorry Chelsea fans, your coach isn’t Sarri
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has expressed disappointment at the criticisms coming his way since his team’s poor run of form and believes he is being unfairly criticised compared to Unai Emery. In an interview with Sky Sports Italia, Sarri said, “I keep hearing people praise Arsenal’s season, but they are not in the Cup Final, they have fewer points than us in the Premier League…I don’t understand why people act as if our season is so negative and Arsenal’s is impressive.” Oga, will you keep quiet! Keep doing strong head and using badly-performing players, very soon Chelsea will start drilling crude oil at the bottom of the league.
